SEO is an abbreviation for "Search Engine Optimizer."
There are so many SEOs promising to provide services for website owners, from writing copy to giving advice on site architecture and helping to find relevant directories to which a site can be submitted. The list is dizzying to say the least. To add to that, there are some who are unscrupulous and do not really provide any real service but to cheat unsuspecting web owners.
They publicise themselves by saying they have "special" relationship with major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Lycos etc. Google themselve state clearly that they do nt have have relationships with any SEOs and does not offer recommendations.
